Belarus Ambassador: continued efforts to further boost Syrian-Belarusian relations

Damascus, SANA – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus in Damascus, Alexander Ponomarev, stressed the deep-rooted relations binding Syria and Belarus and unremitting efforts to further boost them in all domains.

Ponomarev made his remarks during a visit along with Social Affairs and Labor Minister, Rima Qadiri, to Lahn al-Hayat (Tune of Life) Compound at Qudssaya Suburb and Gregarious Orthodox Association in Bab Touma neighborhood.

He said that his country will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Syrian children and reduce the psychological effects due to terrorist attacks on the country.

The visit included distributing 25 tons of relief supplies including milk, meat, clothes and shoes.

In turn, Minister Qadiri highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to implement plans contribute to childhood development in Syria and means of providing support to help children get rid of the negative repercussions of terrorist war waged on their homeland.

She noted to the importance of exchanging visits between Syrian and Belarusian children in building their personality and character in a positive way.

The Minister reviewed the Ministry’s work mechanisms and duties in regard to providing social protection, setting up development policies and managing labor market as well as its role in regulating and supervising the work of non-governmental organizations and voluntary work, underlining the key role of government and friendly countries in providing support and assistance.
