Monthly “Made in Syria” festival showcases variety of products at affordable prices

Damascus, SANA_ A wide range of clothes, food, plastic products, detergents, perfumes, and cosmetics showcased at the 49th monthly shopping festival “Made in Syria”.

The festival, which kicked off Wednesday at al-Jalaa sports complex in Mezzeh area in Damascus, allows direct communication between producers and consumers, not to mention the reasonable prices and discounts which reached 30% for this round.

Chairman of Damascus and Damascus Countryside Chamber of Industry, Samer al-Debs, affirmed that the new round of the festival aims at breaking the prices through discounts reached 30%, pointing out that the main goal of the festival’s successive rounds is helping citizens with low income through providing a variety of goods and meeting the daily needs of the families.

Al-Debs pointed out that the Chamber prepares for larger festivals marking the gold jubilee of the festival in its 50th round , particularly that the government is planning for 2018 to be the year of “Made in Syria”.

About 100 national companies are participating in the festival which will last till 21st of the current month. In addition to Damascus, previous rounds were opened in Tartous, Lattakia and Sweida .

Over the past three years, the festival, which kicked off on April 2015 for the first time, succeeded in promoting national Syrian companies and directly providing the Syrian citizens with their products, thereby defying the unjust blockade and the terrorist war imposed on the homeland.
