Damascus, SANA – 23.817 thousand students of the first grade of high school (10th grade) from various provinces will participate in the “region-level qualifications” of the Syrian Science Olympiad competitions which will kick off on Sunday.
Competitions will be conducted in the subjects of math, physics, chemistry, Informatics and biology.
The Syrian Science Olympiad competitions are held in a hierarchical manner where the top five students in each subject in the region-level qualifications qualify for the third province-level stage due to be held on November 26. Winners in the third stage qualify for the finals that are held at the level of Syria.
The tests of the new season of the Syrian Science Olympiad competitions were launched at the level of schools on October 29 and lasted for five days with the participation 54.427 thousand students from all provinces, with an increase of 5.262 thousand students from last year.
During this year, Syria has earned 18 achievements through participation in international and continental Olympiads, including medals and certificates of appreciation.
