Khamis: investment opportunities will be given to countries that stood by Syria

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Imad Khamis discussed on Tuesday with Said bin Saleh al- Kiyoumi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, means of strengthening economic and investment ties connecting Syria and Oman and the important role of private sector in this field.

Khamis briefed al- Kiyoumi on the government’s plan to develop the economic sector and activate the role of businessmen and investors during the upcoming stage following the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army in various areas, noting that the priority of investments in Syria will be given to the businessmen from the friendly and brotherly countries which stood by Syria in its war against terrorism.

He added that Syria has started the phase of economic recovery, clarifying that the government is working to issue a developed legislative environment for the investment in a way that facilitates procedures for the investors.

Prime Minister welcomed the participation of Oman‘s economic and commercial activities in Damascus International Fair, a step that would form an effective economic cooperation with the various countries and participating companies.

For his part, al- Kiyoumi stressed the important coordination and cooperation between the commerce and industry chambers in the two countries to put a mechanism for future cooperation, including investments in oil, tourism and real estate fields.

In the same context, Economy Minister Mohammad Samer Khalil discussed with the Omani visiting delegation cooperation opportunities and the Omani investment approaches in Syria during the upcoming stage.
