Damascus, SANA – Hundreds of detainees were released from prison on Saturday in the framework of supporting the ongoing local reconciliations in all provinces.
Justice Minister Hisham Mohammad al-Shaar said that 672 persons from various provinces have been released, including 588 detainees that were at Damascus Central Prison, 91 of whom being women, adding this initiative seeks to enhance local reconciliations and allowing those who were misled to return to their normal lives, hoping that others who were led astray would return to their senses.
During the past months, local reconciliations have been achieved in a number of areas and this contributed to strengthening security and stability in these areas the return of all state institutions to it.
