Syrian pianist Qais al-Safadi, the youngest among participants at Russian Music Generations Festival

Damascus, SANA – Syrian pianist Qais al-Safadi was not only the youngest of the participants in the Russian Music Generations Festival, but was among the four young musicians selected by the festival committee in the introduction report of this international musical event.

Al-Safadi played at the festival, which was hosted by the Kremlin Russian Presidential Palace on May 24-28, western music pieces accompanied by the Kremlin’s international orchestra at the hall where the Russian President’s inauguration ceremony was held.

The young Syrian pianist expressed his great pleasure to have participated and represented Syria at international forums.

In a press statement, Fadi Attiah, the director of Solhi al-Wadi Institute of Music at the Culture Ministry, highly valued al-Safadi’s participation in this musical event, referring to the significance of having the Syrian flag hoisted at cultural events abroad at this difficult period of time Syria is going through.

The Russian festival was attended by a number of countries including, Syria, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Serbia, Armenia, Switzerland, China and Russia.
