Damascus, SANA- the Cabinet discussed on Tuesday the difficulties that faced the work plan of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources about providing the petroleum products to the market.

In its weekly session Chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, the Cabinet decided to form a work team from the ministries of Interior, Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Local administration and Environment, and Interior Trade and Consumer Protection.

The team will put mechanism to control and monitor distribution of the petroleum products, and protect the local market and citizens from the monopoly.

With regard to the monopoly of goods and basic needs and price manipulations, the Cabinet instructed the Ministries of Interior Trade and Consumer Protection and Justice to bring these breaches to justice.

Earlier, Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced that the process of unloading the cargo of the oil tanker that carried one million barrels of crude oil has started.
