Damascus, SANA – President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday received congratulatory cables on occasion of Eid al-Adha holiday.
The first cable was from the First Sharia Judge in Damascus Mahmoud al-Ma’arawi, who confirmed that Thursday September 24th is the first day of Eid al-Adha, offering the sincerest congratulations to the President on this occasion.
Justice Minister Najm Hamad al-Ahmad also sent a similar cable congratulating His Excellency on behalf of himself and all the judges, attorneys, and lawyers at the Ministry, with the Minister hoping that terrorism will vanish from Syria and saluting the Syrian Arab Army.
Likewise, Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) Ahmad Abdelsattar al-Sayyed sent a similar letter to President al-Assad, in which he said that this holiday is a suitable opportunity for showing one’s love and dedication to the homeland and its people.
Al-Sayyed also said that the act of depriving Syrians from performing the Hajj pilgrimage ritual by the Wahabi Saudis is a violation of the tenets of Islam and shows the Saudis’ blind hatred.
In the same context, Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun sent a cable of congratulations in which he voiced conviction that Syria’s victory over terrorism is imminent, saying that history will record that Syria sacrificed much to remain free and dignified and to defeat terrorism.
