Damascus, SANA – Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor signed on Sunday with the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society a MoU for organizing cooperation between the two sides in humanitarian, social, cultural and educational fields.
In a press statement, Social Affairs Minister Rima al-Qadiri said that based on the MoU, the Ministry will be the main partner of the organization to facilitate its activities in Syria and will act as the link between the organization and the various agencies and other ministries according to programs and work plans.
She pointed out that the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society is an international non-governmental organization based in Russia, which expands the scope of cooperation between the Syrian and Russian sides in the humanitarian, relief and services fields.
Al-Qadiri noted that the first step in translating the terms of the memorandum on the ground will be in the field of education in partnership with the Ministry of Education, in addition to starting social projects and others related to cultural and historical documentation.
In turn, Representative of the Society in Syria Mtanious Bashour affirmed the importance of signing this MoU to organize work and activities within the national framework in Syria, expressing the hope that the Society will be able to provide social and humanitarian support, especially under the difficult circumstances currently experienced by the country.
