EU condemns attacks by deposed regime remnants in Syria's coastal region

Brussels, SANA-The European Union (EU) has condemned the attacks carried out by remnants of the deposed regime, which targeted security forces in the coastal areas, as well as all acts of violence against civilians, and attempts to undermine stability in Syria.

In a statement, the EU said: “We strongly condemn the recent attacks reportedly carried out by Assad loyalists on government forces in the coastal regions of Syria and all acts of violence against civilians.”

The EU stressed that “civilians must be protected under all circumstances, with full respect for international humanitarian law.”

The EU called on all foreign actors to fully respect Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, while condemning any attempts to undermine stability and the prospects for a comprehensive and respectful lasting peaceful transition for all Syrians.
