Damascus, June 3 (SANA) Syria’s National Earthquake Center (NEC-Syria) recorded a magnitude 3.8 earthquake in Türkiye on Wednesday, about 125 km north of Aleppo.
The tremor occurred at 1:12 p.m. local time and was registered along the East Anatolian Fault. Local residents in northern Aleppo said they felt the tremor.
NEC-Syria said the earthquake was part of ongoing seismic activity being monitored in the region.
On May 24, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck north of Adana, Türkiye, about 160 km northwest of Aleppo, while a magnitude 5.6 quake hit Malatya on May 20. Both tremors were felt in northern Syria.
On April 6, a magnitude 4.1 earthquake was recorded off the Lebanese coast, about 55 km west of Beirut.
