Capitals, June 3 (SANA) Arab and international condemnation continued on Wednesday following Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain, including strikes on Kuwait International Airport and other vital facilities that resulted in casualties, while Bahrain announced it had intercepted and destroyed several missiles and drones targeting different parts of the kingdom.
Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the attacks, reaffirming its rejection of any assault on the sovereignty of Gulf states. In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Foreign Ministry said the attacks constituted a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter and undermined efforts to promote regional security and stability.
The kingdom also reiterated its solidarity with Bahrain and Kuwait, offering condolences to the families of those killed in Kuwait and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
Egypt likewise condemned the Iranian attack on Kuwait International Airport, describing it as a serious violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a dangerous escalation threatening the security and stability of the Gulf region.
In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry affirmed Cairo’s full support for Kuwait and stressed that Gulf security remains a fundamental pillar of Arab national security.
India also condemned the attacks on Kuwaiti territory, noting that one of its citizens was killed and others were injured in the strike on Kuwait International Airport.
According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), India’s Ministry of External Affairs called on all parties to spare civilians and civilian infrastructure, while reaffirming its support for Kuwait during the ongoing developments.
Earlier, Kuwait announced that 63 people had been injured in the Iranian attack on Kuwait International Airport, while Bahrain said its air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed missiles and drones targeting several areas of the country, raising concerns about regional security and the safety of international navigation.
