Syria, UK discuss ways to boost bilateral cooperation

Damascus, SANA-Syrian Justice Minister Dr. Mazhar al-Wais discussed with the British envoy to Syria, Ann Snow, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and improve the situation in Syria.

During a meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, minister al-Wais expressed Syria’s appreciation for the UK’s efforts in seeking to lift the imposed sanctions, stressing the importance of transforming these efforts into tangible practical steps that positively impact the lives of citizens.

The minister also stressed the need to continue providing public services and boosting the transitional justice process despite the challenges associated with infrastructure rehabilitation, digital transformation, and judicial cadre development.

For her part, Ms. Snow reiterated her country’s commitment to supporting peace efforts in Syria, preserving its territorial integrity, and combating terrorism and chemical weapons.

She expressed Britain’s readiness to provide support in the fields of justice, education, and agriculture, which would contribute to improving living and economic conditions.
