Passengers at Aleppo International Airport

Damascus, May 7 (SANA)  Syria’s General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport said Thursday that more than 24,000 passengers traveled through Aleppo International Airport during April.

According to figures published on the authority’s Telegram channel, the airport handled 24,854 passengers, including 12,214 arrivals and 12,640 departures.

The authority said 264 flights were operated during the month by seven airlines operating through the airport.

It added that Syrian airports received 31 complaints in April, nine of which were resolved, including six related to services and three classified under other categories, while 22 complaints remain under review.

The authority said its complaints and feedback system is intended to involve passengers, citizens and airlines in improving services and developing Syria’s civil aviation sector, while prioritizing passenger comfort and safety.

Syrian airports and airspace have seen a steady recovery in operations and international transit traffic following a brief disruption caused by regional tensions.

According to the authority, 2,523 aircraft crossed Syrian airspace during April, while 12 international airlines resumed operations through Damascus and Aleppo international airports.
