Istanbul, April 16 (SANA) A Syrian parliamentary delegation took part in the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Istanbul on Wednesday, holding a series of meetings on the sidelines of the session.
The delegation, headed by People’s Assembly member Mohammad Saadi Mohammad Hisham Sakariya, held discussions with Arab parliamentary officials on strengthening cooperation and coordinating positions on regional issues, according to a statement by the People’s Assembly.

The Syrian delegation also participated in meetings of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Parliamentary Group Supporting Palestine, and the Asian and Islamic Parliamentary Coordination Group, as well as sessions of the IPU Executive Committee.
The statement said the participation reflects efforts to enhance Syria’s parliamentary engagement at the international level and revive channels of multilateral cooperation.
The delegation also held discussions with several parliamentary missions, including representatives of the Qatari Shura Council, as part of efforts to expand dialogue and coordination.
