Damascus, Jan. 18 (SANA) Syria’s General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport announced Sunday that flights will resume at Aleppo International Airport on Tuesday, Jan. 20, in accordance with the approved schedule.
The decision came after the Syrian Arab Army secured areas of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh in Aleppo city and took control of areas west of the Euphrates, including Deir Hafer and Maskanah.
Flights to and from Aleppo Airport were initially suspended on Jan. 7 following shelling by the SDF organization against residential neighborhoods in the city, involving both artillery and drone attacks. The measure was taken to ensure the safety of passengers and flight crews and to maintain the security of airport operations.
