Damascus, March 11 (SANA) Syria’s Ministry of Administrative Development launched a national digital volunteer platform on Wednesday aimed at connecting citizens with volunteer opportunities in government institutions and public initiatives.
The platform, called “Bunat – Syrian Energies Toward Sustainable Impact,” was unveiled during an event at the National Library in Damascus.
According to the ministry, the platform is designed to organize volunteer work across Syria by linking individuals willing to volunteer with institutions offering structured opportunities, while promoting youth participation and long-term social impact.
Administrative Development Minister Muhammad Hassan al-Skaf said the platform will provide a framework to connect the skills and expertise of Syrians with practical opportunities to contribute to national development.
He said the initiative aims to channel volunteer energy into organized efforts that support institutional work and community development.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Marwan al-Halabi said the platform represents a step toward integrating volunteer work into national development strategies and strengthening civic engagement.
Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Kabawat said the initiative will help expand humanitarian and social outreach by enabling volunteers to engage directly with communities and identify their needs.
Officials said the platform will also help connect national talent with volunteer opportunities inside public institutions and encourage youth and community initiatives to support development and public services.
Munir Mustafa, director of civil defense at the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, said Syrian volunteer initiatives have shown the ability to grow from small efforts into influential humanitarian models.
Majd al-Haj Ahmad, adviser to the minister of sports and youth, said youth clubs and centers could serve as hubs for community initiatives, helping mobilize young people to participate in volunteer work and national development.
