Syria bans the entry of trucks coming from Egypt and Saudi Arabia

Damascus, SANA-The General Authority for Land and Sea Ports issued a decision banning the entry of trucks coming from Egypt and Saudi Arabia into Syrian territory starting from July 20, 2025.

The decision which “banns trucks coming from Egypt and Saudi Arabia are prohibited from entering Syrian territory” will go into effect on 20 July 2025.

Transfer operations of goods will be done at the land border crossing.

Director of Relations at the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports, Mazen Alloush told SANA that the decision “comes in response to the just demands submitted by a number of Syrian truck and refrigerated truck drivers and as a reciprocal measure” aimed at improving the conditions of the land transport sector.

He explained that this decision comes as a reciprocal measure as both countries continue to ban Syrian trucks from entering their territories.

Alloush also stressed the Authority’s permanent commitment to protecting the rights of workers in the transportation sector, and its work to take the necessary measures to ensure justice and equality in dealing with Syrian trucks, in coordination with all relevant authorities.
