Damascus, March 5 (SANA) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic issued a formal statement on Thursday, condemning in the strongest possible terms the attempted targeting of both the Republic of Türkiye and the Republic of Azerbaijan by Iran using ballistic missiles and drones.
Syria characterized these acts as a flagrant violation of state sovereignty and a direct threat to regional and international security and stability. The Ministry emphasized Syria’s total rejection of all forms of violence and military escalation that target civilians and vital infrastructure, stressing the urgent need to adhere to international laws and the principles of good neighborliness.
The statement further affirmed the full solidarity of the Syrian Arab Republic with the Republic of Türkiye and the Republic of Azerbaijan during this escalation. The Foreign Ministry called upon the international community to assume its responsibilities in protecting regional peace and deterring actions that undermine the security of sovereign nations.
