New round-trip flights to Aleppo International Airport launched

Aleppo, SANA – The Syrian General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced, Friday, that new flights to and from Aleppo International Airport have begun, in a step to reconnect the city to key regional centers.

The authority explained via its official channel on Telegram that, as of August 1st, Turkish Airlines will begin operating daily flights from Istanbul Airport to Aleppo Airport, while, as of August 2nd, A Jet airline company will join with a daily flight from Istanbul Sabiha Airport to Aleppo Airport, adding that Qatar Airways also will launch three flights per week from Doha to Aleppo Airport as of August 10th.

Operating these new flights is part of the authority’s plan to activate Aleppo International Airport and enhance its presence on the regional air transport map. Director of Public Relations at the Civil Aviation Authority, Alaa Salal, noted.
He added that Qatar Airways will increase the number of flights from Doha to Aleppo from three to four per week, starting from next September,

Salal added that other airlines companies will soon join Aleppo Airport’s network, as part of the ongoing expansion and in response to the growing demand for travel to and from the city.

It’s worth noting that Aleppo International Airport currently operates regular flights from Royal Jordanian, Syrian Airlines, and Fly Cham.
