Riyadh, May 10 (SANA) Syria was drawn in Group C of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup finals alongside Iran, Kyrgyzstan and China.
The draw ceremony was held yesterday in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, where 24 teams were divided into six groups for the tournament, which begins on January 7. Saudi Arabia will host the competition for the first time.
The groups are as follows:
Group A: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Palestine
Group B: Uzbekistan, Bahrain, North Korea, Jordan
Group C: Iran, Syria, Kyrgyzstan, China
Group D: Australia, Tajikistan, Iraq, Singapore
Group E: South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Lebanon or Yemen
Group F: Japan, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia
Syria qualified for the finals after winning all six matches in the third round of qualifiers.
The national team achieved its best AFC Asian Cup result in 2023 by reaching the round of 16.
