Riyadh, Jan.31 (SANA)- The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), commending the efforts that support the path towards achieving security, stability and prosperity in Syria.

The League’s Secretariat said in a statement on Friday that Secretary-General of the (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim al-Issa reaffirms the League’s support for the Syrian government’s diligent efforts to protect the Syrian people and preserve the country’s unity and sovereignty.

Al-Issa noted the efforts of Saudi Arabia and the United States to help reach the agreement, and the response of the Syrian government and the SDF to these good efforts.

The Syrian government announced on Friday that it had reached a comprehensive agreement with the SDF to implement a ceasefire. According the deal, Syrian security forces are set to enter the centers of the cities of Hasakah and Qamishli, while the State will assume control of all civil and government institutions, as well as border crossings and entry points.
