Syria condemns the Israeli attack on a military unit in the Damascus countryside

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian Arab Republic expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack carried out by drones belonging to the Israeli occupation forces, targeting a unit of the Syrian Arab Army near al-Kiswah town in the Damascus countryside, which resulted in the martyrdom of six Syrian Arab Army soldiers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirms that this attack constitutes a serious violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and represents a clear breach of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic. It also comes in the context of the repeated aggressive policies pursued by the Israeli occupation with the aim of undermining security and stability in the region

While the Syrian Arab Republic renews its commitment to its legitimate right to defend its land and people in accordance with the provisions of international law, it calls on the international community, especially the Security Council, to assume its legal and moral responsibilities in putting an end to these repeated attacks, and to work to oblige the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their ongoing violations against Syria, its people and its national institutions.
