Doha, Sept. 2 (SANA) Qatar on Wednesday condemned renewed Iranian missile and drone attacks on Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait, calling them a serious violation of the countries’ sovereignty and warning that further military escalation could undermine diplomatic efforts to restore regional stability.
In a statement posted on X, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said the attacks violated international law, the UN Charter and the principles of good-neighborly relations.
The ministry said continued attacks risked complicating efforts to contain tensions and undermining political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring security and stability in the region.
Qatar held Iran legally responsible for the attacks and their consequences and reaffirmed its solidarity with Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait, saying it supported legitimate measures taken by the three countries to protect their sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
Doha called for an immediate halt to military actions threatening regional security and urged all sides to avoid steps that could widen the escalation.
It also called for a return to dialogue and negotiations and for adherence to understandings reached through diplomatic efforts.
The latest Iranian missile and drone attacks came early Wednesday, a day after the U.S. military struck targets in Iran following recent Iranian attacks on maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
