Manama/Kuwait City, July 20 (SANA) Bahrain said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed hostile aerial targets during Iranian attacks on the kingdom on Monday, while Kuwait said it had thwarted a new wave of hostile drone attacks hours after reporting similar incidents earlier in the day.

Bahrain’s General Command of the Defense Force said in a statement posted on X that Iranian attacks targeting the kingdom had been intercepted, reaffirming the readiness of all military units to defend the country’s territory.

The military urged citizens and residents to avoid approaching suspicious objects or debris that could be remnants of the attacks and to report them to the authorities. It added that the Royal Field Engineering Unit was on full alert to safely handle unexploded objects.

The General Command also said the use of missiles and drones against civilians and private property constituted a violation of international humanitarian law.

Earlier on Monday, Bahrain’s Interior Ministry activated warning sirens across the country over what it described as hostile aerial threats and urged the public to seek shelter.

Separately, Kuwait’s General Staff said its air defense systems intercepted a new wave of hostile drones following an Iranian attack on the country.

The military said any explosion sounds heard were the result of interception operations and urged the public to follow official safety instructions.

It was the second time on Monday that Kuwait reported intercepting hostile aerial targets over its territory.
