Abu Dhabi/Manama, April 7 (SANA) The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain said on Tuesday their air defenses had intercepted missiles and drones launched from Iran over the past 24 hours.
The UAE Ministry of Defense said its air defenses had intercepted one ballistic missile and 11 drones on Tuesday, bringing the total since the start of the attacks to 520 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles and 2,221 drones.
The ministry said the attacks resulted in fatalities, including two armed forces members, a Moroccan civilian contractor and 10 civilians of various nationalities, and added that 221 people had been injured.
In Bahrain, the National Communication Center said the Defense Force had downed nine drones over the past 24 hours, adding that the latest interceptions brought the total since the start of the attacks to 188 missiles and 477 drones.
Bahrain’s Defense Force said targeting civilian sites with missiles and drones violates international law and warned of risks to regional security, urging the public to follow official guidance and avoid affected areas.
The developments come amid escalating tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel, with Gulf states maintaining heightened defensive measures.
