Abu Dhabi, Aug 31 (SANA)  The UAE Defense Ministry said Monday that its air defenses had dealt with a drone coming from Iran over the country’s territorial waters in the Gulf region and denied media reports that al_ Minhad Air Base had been targeted by missiles.

“Our air defenses dealt this morning with a drone over the country’s territorial waters coming from Iran,” the ministry said in a statement on X.

The ministry said reports circulated by some media outlets that Al Minhad Air Base had been targeted by missiles were “untrue.”

It added that the country’s armed forces remained on round-the-clock alert and ready to deal with any potential threats in order to safeguard the UAE’s sovereignty, security and stability.

The ministry urged the public to obtain information from official sources and refrain from circulating rumors or inaccurate information.

On Aug. 18, the UAE Defense Ministry said it had detected two ballistic missiles coming from Iran that were targeting maritime traffic, adding that both missiles fell into the sea.
