Occupied Jerusalem, Sep. 02 (SANA) Two Palestinians were killed Wednesday in Israeli occupation attacks on the Gaza Strip in Palestine, while Israeli occupation forces detained 18 Palestinians and demolished homes during raids across the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
WAFA reported that a Palestinian was killed in an Israeli strike on the al-Houja area of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. A Palestinian woman died from wounds sustained after she was shot by Israeli occupation forces in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
Israeli occupation forces detained 18 Palestinians during raids on Qatanna, northwest of Jerusalem; Deir Ballout in Salfit; Aqaba in Tubas; Taffuh, Khallat Nafisa and Wadi al-Hariya in Hebron; al-Rashayda in Bethlehem; and Balata refugee camp in Nablus.
The forces set up several military checkpoints at entrances to Hebron and its towns, villages and refugee camps. They closed a number of main and secondary roads with iron gates, concrete blocks and earth barriers.
Israeli occupation authorities continued for a fourth consecutive day to bulldoze large areas of Palestinian farmland in the western part of Deir Ballout, west of Salfit.
Deir Ballout Mayor Jihad al-Qasim told WAFA that Israeli bulldozers were continuing land-clearing work and construction of a settlement road linking outposts established in the area. He said the project was consuming hundreds of dunams of land planted with olive trees.
Israeli occupation forces demolished a three-story residential building in the al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan, south of al-Aqsa Mosque, and a house in Nahalin, west of Bethlehem.
In Beita, south of Nablus, a group of Israeli settlers set fire to two vehicles, while another group released sheep to graze on Palestinian-owned land in Wadi Sa’ir, northeast of Hebron, according to WAFA.
The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented 2,030 attacks by Israeli occupation forces and Israeli settlers against Palestinians and their land and property in August. The commission described the incidents as part of a systematic policy targeting the Palestinian presence and their ability to remain on their land.
