Capitals, Feb.28 ( SANA) Israel launched a preemptive air strike on Iran on Saturday, targeting several sites in the capital, Tehran.
Three powerful explosions shook central Tehran, the capital of Iran, following the announcement of an Israeli attack against the country.
According to press reports, the explosions occurred on Saturday morning, while local media and social media users shared images and testimonies of unusual movements in several areas of the city.
Meanwhile, Israel Ministry of Defense announced the start of what he called a “preventive strike” against Iran, without providing immediate details on the targets or scope of the operation.
Meanwhile, air-raid sirens sounded in the occupied Palestinian territories in anticipation of a possible response.
These events come amid escalating threats by the United States and Israel against Tehran in recent weeks, accompanied by an unprecedented U.S. military buildup in the region.
The situation also coincides with three rounds of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States; one held in Muscat and two in Geneva, aimed at addressing disagreements over Iran’s nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions.
