Civil Defense picks up more than 20 bodies in Sbeinah region of Damascus countryside

Damascus, SANA- Syrian Civil Defense teams picked up on Tuesday the remains of more than 20 unidentified bodies from the basement of a residential building in the town of al-Sbeinah of Damascus countryside.

“After receiving information from civilians and activists about the presence of human skeletal remains in the basement of a residential building in in the town of al-Sbeinah, search teams went to the place and picked up the remains, all of which were coverless and at risk of deformation,” member of the Civil Defense Board of Directors, Ammar Al-Salmo told SANA.

Al-Salmo added that according to preliminary data, the remains belong to more than 20 unidentified victims.

“It is difficult to determine the number accurately, as their bodies were deliberately burned, using car tires, and only parts of burned bones are remaining,” al-Salmo said.
