Capitals, Mar. 7 (SANA) The US-Israeli war on Iran entered its second week amid ongoing air and missile strikes between the two sides, following unsuccessful US-Iran nuclear negotiations.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Saturday that an Iranian missile carrying a warhead targeted Tel Aviv, while explosions were heard in Jerusalem after warnings of an Iranian rocket attack, according to AFP.
The Israeli military announced that more than 80 fighter jets conducted air raids on military sites, missile launchers, and other targets in Tehran and central Iran.
Among the targets was the Central Military University of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, used as an emergency facility and assembly point for troops. Underground command centers and missile storage and launch sites were also struck, in an effort to reduce missile attacks toward Israel.
Initial reports indicate around 230 bombs were dropped on multiple military locations.
Israel’s air defenses intercepted some missile threats before air alerts were lifted, while Iran launched additional rockets toward Israel.
A US official told Channel 12 that the aircraft carrier USS George Bush will soon head to the Middle East to reinforce US military presence, expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
AFP also reported that the Iranian navy launched intensive drone attacks targeting sites in Israel, as well as US bases in the UAE and Kuwait. The Revolutionary Guard targeted an oil-carrying drone in the Strait of Hormuz, ignoring repeated navigation warnings.
Al Jazeera reported that Iran intercepted an Israeli Orbiter-4 reconnaissance drone over Isfahan and struck targets in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Since February 28, US and Israeli forces have carried out continuous attacks on Iran, which has responded with missile and drone strikes on Israel and other regional countries.
