Washington, Oct. 1 (SANA) U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered Iran’s delegation to the U.N. General Assembly to leave the United States immediately on Monday after talks stalled, Axios reported, citing a U.S. official and another informed source.
The U.S. mission to the United Nations conveyed the order on Monday evening. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his delegation flew to Doha early Tuesday, though one source said he had already planned to leave that night.
Qatari mediators had sought a breakthrough, but neither side was willing to shift its position, Axios said. They are continuing discussions on a compromise proposal, according to regional sources cited by the outlet.
President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Washington could pursue either a deal or further military action against Iran.
