Beirut, Aug. 20 (SANA) Two people were killed and two others injured Wednesday when explosive devices planted by Israeli forces detonated in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) said the blast occurred near an earthen berm between Mayfadoun and Zawtar al-Sharqiyah.
The Lebanese Health Ministry said the cumulative toll from Israeli attacks reached 4,348 dead and 12,703 injured between March 2 and August 19.
Israeli forces also carried out heavy explosions near the cemetery in Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and a major blast in Kfar Tebnit, followed by three explosions in Talousa.
Israeli warplanes struck and destroyed a house in the Deir neighborhood of Nabatieh al-Fawqa overnight.
Israeli forces opened machine-gun fire toward Hadatha in Bint Jbeil district and blew up a house in Khiam, where a Merkava tank fired four shells. Further explosions were reported in Houla, Talousa and Bani Hayyan in Marjayoun district.
In Tyre district, an Israeli drone dropped a bomb in Mansouri, sparking a fire, while another Israeli drone flew at low altitude over Beirut.
Israeli attacks continue across southern Lebanon, including artillery fire, airstrikes, explosions and drone attacks.
Lebanon and Israel reached a framework agreement on June 26 providing primarily for the disarmament of armed groups not affiliated with the Lebanese state, a gradual Israeli withdrawal from areas entered in southern Lebanon, and Lebanese Army deployment beginning in two pilot areas.
