Gaza, June 4 (SANA) Eight Palestinians, including five members of the same family, were killed and around 15 others injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting areas of Gaza City early Thursday, according to civil defense officials.
Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense, said the strikes killed eight people and wounded several others in attacks on residential areas across the city.
Civil defense crews recovered the bodies of two victims and evacuated several injured people, including one in critical condition, after an apartment in a residential building in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in southwestern Gaza City was hit, Basal said.
He added that two separate airstrikes targeted a house and an apartment in the northwestern part of the city, killing one person and injuring several civilians.
Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City said it had received the bodies of eight people killed in the attacks, as well as approximately 15 injured individuals.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of casualties resulting from Israeli attacks in May exceeded those recorded in previous months since the beginning of the year, amid an escalation in airstrikes that intensified during the Eid al-Adha holiday period.
