Amman, March 24 (SANA) Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed efforts to ease escalating military tensions in the Middle East during a phone call on Monday, according to Jordan’s Petra news agency.

The two officials reviewed ways to restore regional security and stability, Petra said.

They expressed solidarity in response to Iranian attacks targeting both countries, and stressed the need for coordination to contain the impact of the crisis on regional security.

Safadi also extended condolences to his Qatari counterpart over the victims of a military helicopter crash in Qatar’s territorial waters, which killed several military personnel and technicians.

Regional tensions have risen in recent weeks as U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran entered a fourth week. Tehran has responded with missile and drone strikes on Israel and several countries, including Jordan and Qatar, resulting in casualties and damage to infrastructure.
