Beirut, May 19 (SANA) At least six people were killed Tuesday in an Israeli airstrike targeted in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon.
Lebanon’s National News Agency said Lebanese rescue teams managed to recover six bodies from beneath the rubble following the Israeli raid, noting that the death toll could rise to 10 as debris-removal operations continue.
In a related development, an Israeli airstrike targeted the southern Lebanese town of Hanouiyeh later in the evening, injuring two people, one of them seriously injured.
Israeli artillery shelling also intensified in the area of Arid Dbayn in the Marjayoun district, amid heavy plumes of smoke rising across the area.
Israeli warplanes additionally carried out attacks on the town of Tebnine in Bint Jbeil district and on Labaya in the western Bekaa.
Earlier Tuesday, the Lebanese Health Ministry announced in its daily update that the number of victims resulting from the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon since March 2 had risen to 3,042 killed and 9,301 injured.
