Riyadh, March 18 (SANA) Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense said it had intercepted and destroyed seven drones after they entered the country’s airspace, according to state media.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) cited Defense Ministry spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki as saying on Tuesday that the drones were downed over the past few hours in the Eastern Province.
The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions following U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran. Tehran has been carrying out missile and drone attacks targeting several countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure.
