Doha, May 18 (SANA) Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a phone call Monday with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan to discuss regional developments and bilateral relations.
According to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the two sides reviewed cooperation between their countries and ways to strengthen it, while also discussing developments in the region, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran and ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and promote regional security and stability.
The Qatari foreign minister reiterated Qatar’s condemnation of drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, affirming full solidarity with the Kingdom and support for all measures taken to safeguard its security, sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents.
He also stressed the importance of all parties responding to ongoing mediation efforts to address the root causes of the crisis through dialogue and peaceful means, paving the way for a sustainable agreement that prevents renewed escalation.
On Sunday, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed three drones that had violated the Kingdom’s airspace after entering from Iraqi airspace, affirming its right to respond at an appropriate time and place.
