Doha, March 25 (SANA) Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed regional de-escalation efforts during a phone call, with a focus on reducing military tensions and enhancing stability, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).
QNA said the talks addressed ongoing initiatives, including Turkish efforts aimed at curbing escalation and supporting regional stability.
The two leaders also reviewed ways to strengthen coordination and dialogue between their countries to boost bilateral cooperation and serve mutual interests.
They exchanged condolences over victims of a helicopter crash in Qatar’s territorial waters, which was attributed to a technical malfunction during a routine mission.
Earlier, Qatar’s Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Monday called for restraint and a return to dialogue to contain rising tensions in the region.
Several countries in the region, including Qatar, have faced missile and drone attacks from Iran since Feb. 28, following U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran.
