Doha, March 9 (SANA) Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held separate phone conversations with the Presidents of Djibouti and Colombia, Ismaïl Omar Guelleh and Gustavo Petro, as well as with Spain’s King Felipe VI, to discuss developments in the region amid continued Iranian attacks and their serious implications for regional and international security.
According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the discussions affirmed the urgent need to halt the escalation, prevent its expansion, and intensify international efforts aimed at resolving the crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means to safeguard regional and global stability.
During the call, the Djiboutian President expressed his country’s solidarity with Qatar and its support “in confronting the ongoing blatant Iranian aggression.”
In a separate call, the Colombian President conveyed his country’s solidarity with Qatar in light of the Iranian attacks it is facing, affirming Colombia’s support for any measures Qatar takes to preserve its sovereignty, security, and stability.
Spain’s King Felipe VI also expressed his country’s solidarity with Qatar following the Iranian attacks, stressing Spain’s support for Qatar in protecting its sovereignty, territory, and citizens. He praised Doha’s efforts in managing the current crisis and its success in maintaining security and stability.
The region has witnessed ongoing missile exchanges between Iran and the U.S.–Israel alliance, alongside Iranian strikes on Gulf states, Jordan, and Iraq.
