Riyadh, March 21 (SANA) Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, met on Saturday with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to discuss the severe repercussions of the military escalation currently gripping the Middle East. The leaders focused on the direct impact of these developments on the security and stability of the region and the wider world.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the two leaders reviewed the latest regional shifts. Both sides emphasized that the repeated hostile Iranian attacks on Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states—specifically the targeting of vital civilian and economic infrastructure—constitute a dangerous escalation that threatens international energy security and regional peace.
For his part, President El-Sisi renewed Egypt’s strong condemnation of the “sinful and repeated” Iranian aggressions against the Kingdom and neighboring states. He reaffirmed Cairo’s total solidarity with Riyadh, stating that Egypt stands firmly against any threat to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty or national security.
The high-level meeting comes as Iran continues its campaign of missile and drone strikes against several Arab nations, resulting in human casualties and significant damage to critical infrastructure. These strikes are unfolding within the broader context of the military escalation triggered by the ongoing U.S.-Israeli war against Iran that began in late February.
