Trump warns Iran of strike on South Pars if Qatar gas attacks recur
Trump threatens to strike world’s largest gas field if Iran attacks Qatar’s gas facilities again

Washington, March 19 (SANA) U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday on his Truth Social platform that the United States would strike Iran’s “South Pars” gas field if Tehran decides to attack Qatar’s liquefied natural gas facilities again.

Trump said Israel carried out the recent strike on the South Pars field, adding that neither the United States nor Qatar participated in the operation. He also said Israel would not launch further attacks on the field.

“If Tehran decides to attack Qatar again, the United States will blow up the entire South Pars gas field with a force Iran has never seen before,” Trump said on the platform Thursday.

Qatar said earlier that Iran targeted several liquefied natural gas facilities in Ras Laffan Industrial City, causing fires and significant damage. It described the incident as a dangerous escalation, a violation of sovereignty and a threat to national and regional security.

Doha also declared the military and security attachés at the Iranian embassy persona non grata and demanded their departure.

The developments follow Israeli airstrikes on facilities linked to Iran’s South Pars gas field in southern Iran, described as the first publicly acknowledged attack on Iranian energy infrastructure since the start of the U.S.-Israeli-Iranian conflict on Feb. 28.

Gas and petrochemical facilities in Asaluyeh, in Bushehr province, were also targeted, resulting in fires in parts of the complex.

The incidents come amid continued regional escalation involving missile and drone strikes affecting energy infrastructure and maritime routes.
