Riyadh, March 19 (SANA) Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed Thursday with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar the Iranian escalation in the region.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the talks took place on the sidelines of a consultative meeting of foreign ministers from a group of Arab and Islamic countries held Wednesday in Riyadh.
during the meeting, the ministers stressed the importance of continued consultation and coordination of joint efforts to achieve security and stability in the region
In parallel, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani discussed Thursday with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi the Iranian attacks on countries in the region and their implications for regional security and stability, as well as international maritime security.
The Bahrain News Agency reported that the two ministers, during their meeting on the sidelines of the same consultative gathering in Riyadh, stressed the need to halt these attacks targeting Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan, in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026).
They also discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordination across various sectors in a manner that serves mutual interests.
The consultative meeting of foreign ministers from Arab and Islamic countries, convened Wednesday at the invitation of Saudi Arabia, strongly condemned missile and drone attacks targeting countries in the region, as well as Jordan, Turkey and Azerbaijan, describing them as violations of sovereignty and international law.
