France says its jets intercepted Iranian drones targeting UAE
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot

Paris, March 4 (SANA) French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said Wednesday that French fighter jets stationed in the UAE intercepted Iranian drones in Emirati airspace while securing French bases in the Middle East.

“French Rafale fighter jets neutralized Iranian drones that were targeting the UAE,” Barrot told BFM TV, referring to a French air operation in the region. He added that France maintains naval and air bases in the Al Dhafra region.

Since Saturday, Gulf states, Jordan and Iraq have faced Iranian missile and drone attacks following joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran.
