Engineer Mahmoud Fadila, head of the delegation and Director of the General Company for Cement and Building Materials Marketing “Omran,” stated to SANA that the multi-day visit included meetings with the board of directors of the Syrian-Jordanian “Arab Company for White Cement Industry”, reviewing its operations, and modernizing production lines to double output and meet regional demands.

Eng. Fadila mentioned that during the meetings, proposals were made to utilize available land at the factory for establishing a solar energy system to supply electricity, alongside upgrading the company’s laboratory to align with modern cement testing standards.

The delegation also visited “Cementra” and “Al-Shamal” companies to observe their advanced production lines and the diversity of cement products in Jordan.

Discussions were held with the companies’ management to leverage their expertise in developing Omran’s cement plants through a cooperation memorandum that includes knowledge exchange and training programs for Syrian technical staff, aiming to enhance the quantity and quality of cement production in Syria to meet reconstruction needs.

Additionally, the delegation met with Jordanian investors who expressed interest in investing in Syria, particularly in the cement sector and developing Omran’s factories.

Eng. Fadila noted that the delegation also met with Ahmad al-Rousan, Secretary General of the Arab Union for Cement and Building Materials, who emphasized his commitment to collaborating with Omran and pledged to exert efforts to support the development of Syria’s cement industry.
