Hasakah,May 22 (SANA) The al-Yarubiyah crossing witnessed the passage of a new transit shipment coming from Turkish territory and heading to Iraq, in a move that reflects the growing movement of commercial transport and the return of international transit lines to work through Syria after years of hiatus.
The General Authority for Border and Customs said the shipment formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional trade exchange and reactivate overland transport routes across the region.

According to the authority, the operation highlights the strategic importance of the al-Yarubiyah crossing as a regional transit hub linking neighboring countries through Syrian territory.
Officials said the crossing was witnessing increasing commercial activity, including transit truck movement, trade exchange and passenger traffic, alongside service measures aimed at facilitating border procedures and accelerating customs and logistical processing.
Authorities added that personnel at the crossing continued efforts to ensure smooth movement and provide facilities for transport companies, traders and travelers, contributing to broader economic activity and regional transport connectivity.
