Manama, May 22 (SANA)    The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the terrorist bombing that struck the vicinity of a building belonging to Syria’s Ministry of Defense in Damascus on Tuesday, which killed one soldier and injured several others.

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement on Friday, expressed Bahrain’s solidarity with the sisterly Arab Republic of Syria, renewing its firm and consistent position against all acts of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability and terrorizing civilians.

The ministry extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the martyr, as well as to the Syrian government and people, and wished a swift recovery for those injured in the attack.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense had earlier announced that one soldier was killed and 23 people were wounded, most of them civilians, after a car bomb exploded near a Ministry of Defense building in Bab Sharqi district of Damascus.
