Damascus, May 22 (SANA) Syria’s Health Minister Musab al-Ali met Friday with World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to discuss ways to boost healthcare cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting took place in Geneva during the 79th World Health Assembly at the UN headquarters, according to Syria’s Health Ministry.
The ministry said al-Ali stressed the importance of deepening Syria’s health partnership with the WHO and supporting national healthcare programs.
Minister al-Ali said the ministry was working to align healthcare services with international standards to improve the efficiency of Syria’s health sector and enhance the quality of services provided to citizens.
He added that cooperation with the WHO contributed to exchanging expertise and supporting healthcare development plans in line with international best practices.
