Syria signs offshore energy exploration agreement with three global companies
Syria’s SPC signs MoU with ConocoPhillips, TotalEnergies, and QatarEnergy for offshore exploration

Doha,May. 12 (SANA) The Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC), represented by its CEO Youssef Qablawi, signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday with U.S. ConocoPhillips, TotalEnergies of France, and QatarEnergy to explore for oil and gas in Syrian territorial waters.

The MoU stipulates that the partner companies will conduct the required technical studies, prepare a work program, and develop an exploration contract that would pave the way for moving into more advanced operational phases of offshore exploration, according to a statement released by SPC on its Telegram channel.

Syria signs offshore energy exploration agreement with three global companies

SPC stressed that the agreement aligns with its strategic direction to expand cooperation with leading international energy companies and to benefit from their expertise and advanced technologies in exploration and production. The company noted that such partnerships are expected to support Syria’s energy sector and enhance investment and economic development opportunities.
