A cargo ship named MOAYADY arrived at Lattakia port from Ukraine carrying about 23,500 tons of wheat, as part of ongoing efforts to secure Syria’s basic commodities, officials in the port authorities confirmed Sunday.
The officials noted that the shipment will be unloaded and delivered to the Syrian General Establishment for Grains according to the present timetable.
The import is part of a continuous procurement program aimed at strengthening Syria’s strategic wheat stockpile and maintaining steady flour supplies to mills and bakeries across the country.
According to port authorities, relevant agencies are overseeing unloading, transport and storage to guarantee the grain’s quality and safety before distribution to processing facilities.
